Great day, weather just right for walking - little bit of breeze and good visability. Walked up Grains Gill (hate this walk up) onto Esk Hause, joined the multitude heading for Scafell Pike then broke off left to Esk Pike. Encountered a group of Sikhs from the Midlands as we broke off left to Esk Pike - what a great top, brilliant views down the Langdales, Bowfell and the Crinkles.
Headed down towards Mosedale to bag Pike de Bield (Birkett) then back up to Esk Pike and back to the main trod from from Scafell Pike, stopped for a break at the top of Grains Gill and encountered two couples enjoying fags and cans of Stella after their ascent of Scafell Pike, like their style!
Looking down Eask Hause, Gables on the left.
Jo on the top of Esk Pike
The phallic cairn of Pike de Bield, Scafell and Scafell Pike on the horizon
