Walks at the moment: We are trying to finish the Birketts, just 30 left out of 541 including Pillar Rock as the finale. Finished the Wainwrights in 2013, last one Slight Side. We enjoy walking in the Yorkshire dales, having done most of the 2,000ers in the old boundaries that was once North Riding and interested in the Nuttalls - keep adding the lists. Welsh 3,000 also lots of good stuff to do in Scotland - plenty of summits2do MAIN BLOG PICTURES PLEASE CLICK TO ENLARGE ALSO CLICK OLDER BLOGS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE FOR PREVIOUS YEARLY POSTINGS

CARRON CRAG, OUTLYING EASTERN TOP

Decided to pick off another random Birkett today over in Grizedale. The weather again was magnificent so we braved the traffic and headed down through Hawkshead to the Foresty Commision Centre in Grizedale and parked up. The walk was a pleasant two hours up through the forest onto a rocky plateau with a craggy pinnacle which led to the trig point. We met a feisty old lady who topped out at the same time as us on a coach trip from Wigan. She said she had deserted the others preferring to do this by herself! go girl!
