Went up from Char Dub, Ennerdale, through the forest and onto the open fell. The weather was scorching and the horse-flies taking no prisoners. Made good headway to Caw, then followed the Ennerdale Wall to Ennerdale Fell or Iron Crag as it seems to be called now. The descent was gruelling, high bracken, no path.
Caw, with my additional ironwork - art in action!
Ennerdale Fell (Iron Crag). We did visit all the other cairns just to be on the safe side.
The last bit of a Sabre jet that crashed on Ennerdale Fell in 1959 killing the pilot. The wing was removed to Milldenhall a few years ago.
Proper campsite with showers, cuppa tea!
