We enjoy walking in the Yorkshire dales, having done most of the 2,000ers in the old boundaries that was once North Riding and interested in the Nuttalls - keep adding the lists. Welsh 3,000 also lots of good stuff to do in Scotland - plenty of summits2do MAIN BLOG PICTURES PLEASE CLICK TO ENLARGE ALSO CLICK OLDER BLOGS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE FOR PREVIOUS YEARLY POSTINGS

WHIN RIGG, IRTON FELL, RED PIKE - WILD CAMP AT SCOAT TARN

Arrived in Nether Wasdale late Friday night, had a meal at The Strands and got a room across the road at The Strands - two great pubs in a lovely village. Next morning after a full English we set off up Whin Rigg, Wasdale - weather absolutely amazing, wall-to-wall sunshine, pulled in Irton Fell on the way down.

After we got down at lunchtime, drove round to Wasdale and headed up to Scoat Tarn to camp for the night. Arrived at Scoat Tarn about 5pm, pitched the tent had something to eat and went up to the top of Red Pike - stayed on the tops until about 10.30 pm, fantastic warm evening.
