Continuing our half a leg and return on each section today we walked from Exton to East Meaon, 12 miles. We parked-up and dashed across the A32 and headed for a small path that took us over the River Meon, a lovely chalk stream before plunging into a narrow woodland shaw. Today was absolutely perfect and the butterflies in abundance, we passed around Old Winchester Hill, deciding to pick it up on the way back. Beautiful countryside, sloping meadows, cornfields, enormous hedges with verdant wildflower beds beneath all being harvested by flotillas of butterflies. Passed the idyllic Meon Fishery and saw the spire of East Meon Church which became our lunch stop at the Ye Olde George Inn, great pub! Headed back the same route pulling in the top of Old Winchester Hill.
